Emergency Shelter

Turning Point’s Emergency Shelter Program provides a safe and secure environment on an emergency basis for 30 days,
for adults and children fleeing a violent situation. All genders are welcome.

To Receive Shelter Services

  1. Call our 24 hour helpline 815-338-8081(if it is after business hours, you may be directed to press zero at the end of the recording).
  2. Our advocate will ask some questions to determine if our emergency shelter is appropriate for your situation. If Turning Point, Inc. is not a good fit, you will be provided with referrals to other options.
  3. If our emergency shelter is fit for your situation, an advocate and individual will meet you at the shelter.
  4. Paperwork will be completed and appropriateness of the shelter confirmed.*

*Shelter is not guaranteed until all paperwork is completed.
